New Year’s Resolution: Let’s Get Clean!

New Year’s resolution- a promise to do something differently in the new year.

Some resolutions stick…others don’t, and there are so many that are promised over and over every January.  Getting healthier is one of the most common goals at the start of a new year. Losing weight, making better food choices, exercising more often, are all great goals to becoming more healthy.

Do you know what else plays a role in your overall health?

Your environment. Creating a clean and germ-free environment for yourself and your family will help to avoid sickness and allow you to better maintain and achieve your goals for a healthier lifestyle.  After all, this past year with COVID-19 has made everyone more aware of bacteria and germs and the importance of sanitization.

How do you create this kind of environment?

Here are some easy tips for making your space germ-free:

Clean and disinfect high traffic areas in your home and office. Germs hide in a million places such as the kitchen sink, cutting boards, doorknobs, light switches, AC thermostat, desks, computer keyboards, etc.  After cooking in the kitchen, be sure to use the LiViliti Sanitizing Wand on your countertops and cutting boards to minimize spreading bacteria (like E. coli) around the rest of the house. Wand over doorknobs, light switches, AC thermostat, desks, computer keyboards once a day, or every few days, to minimize the amount of germs exposed to you and your family or guests.

The LIVILITI SANITIZING WAND uses UVC LED technology to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria, germs & viruses by scanning back and forth over the surface area.

Clean your cell phones, tablets, and car keys, often. We touch our phones constantly throughout the day and they are one of the largest carriers of germs that we come into contact with daily. The most efficient way that I have found to disinfect those items is the LiViliti Paptizer. It is a medical- grade sanitizer box that eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria, germs & viruses in as little as 3 minutes.  And it is chemical and ozone free! You can put anything in the box as long as it fits…cell phone, tablets, car keys, face mask, eye glasses, CPAP mask and accessories, office supplies, headphones, TV remotes, etc.  Disinfect any of those items and more in the Paptizer daily or every few days to decrease the spread of germs and bacteria.

Create a no shoes policy in the house. Where you go, your shoes go. Germs and other things stick to the bottoms of your shoes. When you walk into your house these bacteria invade your home. Removing your shoes at the door will help keep these germs from spreading and coming into your house.

Wash your sheets once a week.  We spend a lot of time in our beds sleeping so it’s not surprising this is a place where germs would congregate. Dead skin cells collect on our bedding, as well. Wash your sheets and comforter in hot water at least once a week to kill bacteria, germs and dust mites.

Wash your hands frequently. According to the CDC, proper hand hygiene is vital to lowering the spread of bacteria, germs & viruses.  Below is the seven-step hand washing technique recommended by the WHO and CDC:

Steps to washing your hands properly:

  1. Wet your hands with clean — preferably running — water.
  2. Apply enough soap to cover all surfaces of your hands and wrists.
  3. Lather and rub your hands together briskly and thoroughly. Make sure to scrub all surfaces of your hands, fingertips, fingernails, and wrists.
  4. Scrub your hands and wrists for at least 20 seconds.
  5. Rinse your hands and wrists under clean — preferably running — water.
  6. Dry your hands and wrists with a clean towel, or let them air-dry.
  7. Use a towel to turn off the faucet.

Start the new year off right! Take action on these things to create a healthy, germ-free environment for you and your family. Let the wand and paptizer help you to maintain your goals throughout the year by making sanitizing more efficient! Don’t just make resolutions…keep them!!
